"I build abstract sculptural pieces that draw inspiration from natural forms, fusing the textural and painterly qualities of layered rocks, sea caves, tree bark, skin and of clay itself in its many guises. I employ a range of building techniques and surface finishes to capture these contrasts; from wheel thrown and altered clay to smooth cast forms burnished and polished - finished with glazes, oxides or alternative low firing techniques."
